Our Vision

The Platinum Corridor®

The Platinum Corridor® has the potential to be a highly sustainable, world-class, transit-oriented, pedestrian-based development. Committed to an ethos of inclusion and humanity, it offers the prospect of a vibrant urban community of innovation. It seeks to engage and intersect with the surrounding residential communities, businesses, schools and universities, to create local jobs, and attract organizations hungry for innovation and talent.

Working with lead Philadelphia architecture firm, The Sheward Partnership, University Place Associates (UPA) commissioned an Urban Design Study, led by renowned architect, and native Philadelphian Phil Freelon, FAIA, Design Director of Perkins+Will. Freelon’s design achievements include cultural, civic and academic projects for some of America’s most respected institutions, including most recently the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, DC.

SUSTAINABLE DISTRICT FRAMEWORK:

PUBLIC REALM + ARCHITECTURE + RESILIENCE

The purpose of the study is to guide future development by presenting an overall vision and identity for the architectural expression of the buildings and their respectful relationship to the surrounding community.
